Our history
Standing for Truth Since 1964.
In March of 1964, God put it in the hearts of a small group of people to start a church in Amory, MS. Unity is an independent, fundamental, King James Bible teaching and preaching church that has faithfully served in the Amory, MS area for over 50 years. Our primary purpose is to preach the gospel, see lost souls come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and then instruct the membership to become faithful followers of our Lord. We are a mission minded church and support missionary endeavors in our nation and throughout the world.
What to Expect
I’m coming for the first time. What should I expect?
Unity Baptist Church has a “schedule” for their services, but openly declares that, in no terms, do we want to stifle the movement of God. Testimonies are commonplace. Unity Baptist is known as an “old fashioned” Baptist church, which means praising God is encouraged. It will not be surprising to find many raising their hands in praise, or shouting their approval or agreement with the pastor as he preaches from God’s Holy Word. Expect the unexpected!
Service Times and Location
Sunday
9:45am Sunday School
No matter your age we have a Sunday School class for you. We have a thriving Sunday School program designed to challenge and increase your knowledge of God’s Word.
10:45am Morning Worship
We believe in Old-Time Worship. We often begin our services in prayer, followed by congregational songs and choir singing. Our pastor, Bro. Jacob Rutledge, will then bring a message from the Word of God.
6:00pm Evening Worship
We often have some of our sweetest services in the evening. Although laid out similar to our morning services, God often blesses this service in a peculiar way. Don’t miss what God has for you!
Wednesday
7:00pm Wednesday Evening
Our Wednesday evening services begin at 7:00 P.M. typically with congregational singing. We then gather around the altar for a time of fervent prayer. The evening message from God’s Word is then presented.
